Dried pomegranates are good for your health. While pomegranates are commonly red, when dried it can be in many colors, including pink and red, but most often white. The fruit is believed by many people as a very nutritious and useful fruit. Several facts about the fruit are:
- The name derives from medieval Latin pōmum “apple” and grānātum “seeded”

- It contains the Vitamins B6, C, E, and K, as well as the minerals iron, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, and natural phenols, such as ellagitannins and flavonoids

- In preliminary laboratory research and clinical trials, juice of the pomegranate may be effective in reducing heart disease risk factors, including LDL oxidation, macrophage oxidative status, and foam cell formation
